Every year, approximately 1.5 million dogs and cats are euthanized on shelters around the globe.
Thankfully this number is lower each year because of adoption campaigns. But, still, there are a lot of canine and feline friends that spend their last days alone.
With this in mind, Nicola Coyle created the Grey Muzzle Canine Hospice Center so, that every dog spends their last days surrounded by love, cuddles, delicious meals and playtime. They even feed them steak from a local pet-friendly pup.
Coyle has expressed that sometimes her job can be heartbreaking, but she can’t abandon them in their final moments.
Why is this so important?
Because the majority of the pets that end up in kill shelters haven’t had a good life, they had been used for breeding, as guard dogs or they have been mistreated by the previous owners.
We love that she is doing this.
Every dog deserves to be loved at least once in their life.
