DIY CBD Treats: Are they worth the time and effort?

In the last decade, we've seen an increase of DIY blogs and Youtube videos. From wedding decorations to baked goodies, we've seen it all.

But.

It is essential for you to be careful and aware that a lot of these products are cheaper and higher quality when purchased from a trustworthy company.

If you are here, you might know that CBD is an excellent source of relief for a lot of ailments. CBD can help with anxiety, pain, epilepsy, allergies, and again issues.

So it's no surprise that there are a lot of tutorials out there showing how to create your own delicious CBD dog treats at home.

While we agree that some of these recipes sound so good, you need to be careful and understand the product you are using, before adventuring in the kitchen.

Cooking CBD can be tricky:

While we do encourage that you use our CBD Oils, CBD-Infused Peanut Butter and CBD-Infused Coconut Oil to create tasty treats for your pup, a lot of these DIY pages are sharing CBD recipes that will require you to bake or cook your CBD oil.

That is a terrible idea.

Why?

Warming CBD oil can increase its effectiveness, but cooking it at temperatures higher than 320 degrees Fahrenheit, will make it evaporate.

If you place CBD directly into a pan or you bake it at a standard 350 degrees Fahrenheit, will result in a loss of its medical benefits and to make matters worse, it will make the oil more bitter.

Less is more:

Another thing to keep in mind is that you shouldn't use too much CBD while making your treats. There are two fundamental reasons to keep an eye on the amount of CBD you use per recipe.

First of all, CBD is one of the least expensive solutions to a lot of ailments, but that doesn't mean that it is cheap... AT ALL. So we need to make sure we are taking the most advantage of the product, and we should never administer more than recommended.

On the other hand, CBD can have a bitter taste, and that could ruin the otherwise tasty snack for your furry friend.

It is more expensive:

You might think that making your own treats could save you money or that this way you'll be sure that all the ingredients are natural. BUT, you can investigate the brands and the ingredients that they use in every recipe.

You might also be surprised about how much money can be spent to do the snacks yourself.

For example:
